A message from our Project Coordinator

Dear All,
This is a challenging time for us all, but it offers a wonderful opportunity to focus on our own landscapes. I have been walking my property more over the past 5 days than I have in several years and it is wonderful. Each morning I get out there prior to sunrise and walk while waiting for the orchestra to begin. The frogs, toads, and birds begin plucking notes across the two valleys and within a few minutes a verse is added and then the orchestra is proclaiming a new day. It is simply magical and sets the tone of my day. Since my two hours of drive time to the office each day is no longer, I take at least one of those hours to get outside and work on habitat. My husband and I often find we have little time to manage our property due to our jobs; this opportunity has afforded us time we thought lost. I will take it and not only use it to help our citizens stay healthy, but also help my local flora and fauna.
I hope you too may be able to find time to perhaps rejuvenate a project and/or build native habitat in your landscape (remove those invasive plants too). I can’t think of a better way to make a positive impact at home, in our neighborhoods, etc. during this challenging time. Spring is here and things are moving outside; how many caterpillars is your yard supporting?
Hope all are safe and well, and I wish you a wonderful week!
