Regulated terrestrial invasive plant: bush honeysuckles (Lonicera mackii, L. morrowii, L. tartarica, L. X bella)
Non-regulated terrestrial invasive plant: Japanese meadowsweet (Spiraea japonica)
Native alternatives for your landscape in Indiana
Bushes:
Black chokeberry (Aronia melanocarpa) – pollinator connection: bees, flies and is host to coral hairstreak
Winged sumac or Fragrant sumac (Rhus copallinum and R. aromatica ) – pollinator connection: bees, beetles, flies and winged sumac is host to red-banded hairstreak
Meadowsweet (Spirea alba) – pollinator connection: bees, beetles, butterflies, flies and moths
Native viburnums (arrowwood viburnum, maple leaf viburnum, nannyberry) (Viburnum dentatum, V. acerifolium, V. lentago) – pollinator connection: bees, birds, butterflies, flies and host to Henry’s elfin (V. dentatum and acerifolium) and Spring azure (V. lentago)
