Invasive plants diminish the natural beauty and productivity of Indiana! They negatively impact our lands in many ways, including loss of biodiversity, degradation of natural habitats, decreased property values, declining agricultural yields, & adverse effects on public utilities, recreation and tourism. Indiana landowners and managers spend millions annually managing invasive plants throughout the state.
Southern Indiana Cooperative Invasives Management (SICIM) is a non-profit organization led by a volunteer board and committee members with the mission to protect, restore, and enhance Southern Indiana’s landscapes by coordinating efforts to identify, prevent, and control invasive species. Through the Indiana Invasives Initiative, our partnership with the USDA Natural Resource Conservation Service, we work statewide to manage invasive plants and raise public awareness of the devastation caused by these non-native pests.
Donate via our #GivingTuesdayNow donation page this May to further your support! Donations for funds matching will be accepted through May 26th.
We are also extending our popular Indiana Invasives Initiative T-shirt campaign! Order your shirt today to spread the word about invasive plants and the Indiana Invasives Initiative. All proceeds go to SICIM in support of the Indiana Invasives Initiative.
